Diabetes Management Classes

Outpatient education classes are free for adults with type I or type II diabetes who want to deepen their understanding of the disease and learn everyday strategies to help them enjoy a healthier lifestyle by taking control of this serious disease.

Our experienced team of educators includes a registered dietitian, registered nurse, physical therapist, pharmacist and a physician. The goal of this program is to provide practical advice on nutrition, medications, achieving better blood glucose control, hygiene, sick day management, community resources and techniques for combating stress and exercise. A complimentary lunch is provided along with lab work which includes a lipid profile and Hemoglobin A1C.

Participants with diabetes may bring one person with them to the class that is supportive of them, i.e. a spouse.

**Pre-registration is required. Call (731) 661-2133 to sign up for the class.

A complimentary lunch is provided and there is no fee to attend the class.

Complimentary lab work is provided by Regional Hospital of Jackson that includes a lipid profile and Hemoglobin A1C.
